Important Information
If you would like to be proactively notified when a product
update (patch) becomes available, Eagle Point Software provides
this service for free. Each time Eagle Point releases a new
patch, an e-mail message will be sent that notifies you of the
availability of the patch along with a listing of each problem
that has been corrected. You can then log onto our FTP site (via
our Homepage if you desire) and download the patch at your
convenience. If you are interested in this free service, send an
e-mail message to:

The following items discuss the most recent changes found in
this version of Eagle Point Software. Please note that the
following sections are organized alphabetically, by module,
starting with System level descriptions of VIP Enhancements,
General Enhancements and then bug fixes.
Compatibility testing of Eagle Point 2001/2002 2.1.0 has been
performed in the Professional version of Windows XP and to date
nothing has been found that impedes the performance or stability
of the software. There are a few cosmetic items that will be
resolved in future releases, but they do not impair the current
functionality. As an example, the Eagle Point help icon does not
align with the close icon when using the default "Windows XP"
theme, but still operates properly. Also, the software GUI (Graphical
User Interface) will not take on the "Windows XP"
default theme until a problem with certain edit controls can be
resolved.
Formal testing with Windows XP Home will commence after the 2.1.0
release. Due to the similarities between the Professional and
Home Editions, it is not anticipated that any unique problems
will arise that will prevent the support the Home Edition of
Windows XP. If any Windows XP specific problems are identified
after the 2.1.0 release, they will be addressed in future
maintenance releases.
Also note that not all of the CAD packages Eagle Point runs
with are supported in Windows XP. Autodesk has chosen to support
Windows XP Professional with AutoCAD 2002, and Bentley's
MicroStation V8 is the only version that is supported in Windows
XP Professional or Home. Currently, Eagle Point is not supported
in MicroStation V8, but support is anticipated with the 2002 Q2
CD. Testing has also been completed on the Eagle Point Graphics
Engine in Windows XP Professional.
Novell has yet to release a Netware client for Windows XP
Professional. Therefore anyone who is running Eagle Point with
the Novell License Manager will have to wait until Novell
releases a Netware client for Windows XP Professional.
The following features have been added to Eagle Point Software:
- System - System Units. A new option has been added to the
Linear Units Category of this command that allows you to
define unit multipliers and unit indicators that are used
in 'linear distance' input fields throughout the software.
This provides the capability to enter English unit based
measurements while in a metric unit project and vice
versa. Additional unit conversions may also be preformed
to be able to enter distances in US Survey Feet,
Millimeters, Survey Chains, Architectural Feet,
Architectural Inches as well as your own user-defined
unit of measure. When entering data into 'linear
distance' type edit fields, you may input the desired
numerical value followed by the unit indicator and upon
tabbing out of the edit field or clicking another button
(Next, Apply, OK, etc.), the value will be converted
automatically into the current project units. For
example, in an English unit based project, if you enter '5m'
in a distance edit field the command will convert the
value to 16.40419948 feet. Please note that the edit
fields that allow this input are limited to ones that
typically except input in the project's major units as
defined in the project prototype (feet, meters,
architectural feet/inches) while regular inches/millimeter
edit fields do not.
- Landscape Design Edging. This command enables you
to create a database of edging that includes line type,

the duplicate Nodes with the Resolve Duplicate Node
command has been increased.

configuration is changed (i.e. a newer version of the CAD

configuration for the local machine as well as for the
current user.
- System General. The toolbars for modules that have
never been opened will now cascade down from the main

on correctly in the selected views.

Tab.

checking to allow for interactive modification, without
affecting the original pipe.

spreadsheet is the project name, and the spreadsheet is
no longer dropping the number from the zone descriptions.
- Base Plan Sum Area by Layer. Correctly reports
areas without causing an error.
- COGO Field Data Traverse. The contents of the
angle edit field are now highlighted after selecting the
"Next Leg" or "Sideshot" button so a
new value can be entered without using your mouse to
remove the previous value.
- COGO Inverse Objects. The area and perimeter of an
open object that ends with an arc is now reported
correctly.
- COGO Inverse Points. The tab order within the
command has been modified to operate in the same fashion
as similar commands.
- COGO Report Nodes. All instances of Nodes that
have truly identical properties (Northing, Easting,
Elevation, Field Code and Description) will now display
in the Report Node list when it is empty and an option
other than "All" is used. Once the Node list
contains items, only one instance of truly identical
Nodes will be added to the list.
- COGO Point Protection. The Delete Old Node option
within the Point Protection dialog box will now remove
the original Node.
- COGO Resolve Duplicate Nodes. MicroStation Users
Only. When Linked to an External Node Database, the Node
in the database now displays "External Node Database"
for the level.
- COGO Resolve Duplicate Nodes. When using the
Delete Selected Nodes option, only the nodes highlighted
are deleted and removed from the list. Previously,
additional Nodes were removed from the listing. This
required you to close the command and reopen it to

polyline/complex.
- Drafting Place Text. The command now uses the text
height defined within the specified text style when
setting your Default CAD Settings to 'Use Current Style's
Height'.
