Refer to Chapters 3 and 4 in the Getting Started manual for complete information on how to install Eagle Point Software.
When running the Setup routine from the CD or Client Deployment Location, the newer version will update/repair the program files necessary to take the software to the CD version. If a newer version patch has been applied, the CD or Client Deployment will NOT overwrite the program files. To gain access to the options on the Maintenance dialog box, use the Add/Remove Programs command in your Windows Control Panel, select the "Eagle Point" item in the software list and click on the Add/Remove button. The Eagle Point Maintenance dialog box will then appear.
If you have already installed Eagle Point (99 - 2005) software , follow the steps below for installing the updated software contained on this CD. You do not need to un-install the previous installation prior to installing the update. Also, your authorization codes do not need to be re-entered. Any customizations you have made to your Support files (Field Code Libraries, Prototypes, etc.) will not be affected by the update, however it is recommended that you make a backup your Support folder. It is also recommended that ALL workstations within your office be updated to the same release to avoid any conflicts between newer and older versions.
Single License
Installation
If you have previously installed Eagle Point (99 - 2005) using
the single (local) license option and wish to update the software
from a newer CD, you should follow the steps outlined below.
1. Insert the Eagle Point CD into your CD-ROM drive (assumed drive e:).
2. From the Windows Start menu, choose Run and type e:\setup.exe and click on the OK button.
3. On the Eagle Point Kiosk, select Install Local License (single seat).
4. The setup routine begins the update process. On the Maintenance Complete dialog box, select the Finish button to complete the update.
If you have not previously installed the Eagle Point Software, you will need to follow the installation steps outlined in Chapter 3 in the Getting Started manual. Be sure to select the same options for the CAD configuration (Single, Dual, etc.). On the Select Component(s) dialog box, choose the options you had set previously. Verify the paths are set correctly if you have pieces of the software located on the network.
Updating the Client
Deployment Setup on the Network (Network License Manager)
If you have previously installed Eagle Point to run with the
Eagle Point Network License Manager you will need to update the
client setup folder that resides on your network. Make sure you
have administrator rights to the location where the client
deployment resides. To ease the installation process and to
ensure proper setup of the license manager, perform this
installation from the same machine that was used previously. By doing so, you
are immediately asked if you want to use your existing client deployment
configuration. Once you select to use the existing client deployment
configuration, review the installation options and click on Next to begin
building the updated client deployment. If you do not use the same machine or
you choose not to use the existing client deployment configuration, compete the
following steps:
1. Insert the Eagle Point CD into your CD-ROM drive (assumed drive e:)
2. From the Windows Start menu, choose Run and type e:\setup.exe and click on the OK button.
3. On the Eagle Point Kiosk, select Install Network License (multi-seat).
4. Select the Next button on the Welcome dialog box to continue with the setup.
5. Select Yes on the License Agreement dialog box to continue with the setup.
6. Enter the Network Installation Password and select the Next button (the password has not changed).
7. Select the same option on the Network Configuration dialog (Software Local or Software Network) and select the Next button. By default, the option from the previous installation is set.
8. Select the same options on the Network License Manager dialog and select Next. If you are installing from the same machine as previous installations, the options will default to the last settings.
9. Specify the Program folder location for the Eagle Point License Manager Utilities. Select the Next button.
10. On the Client Deployment Folder dialog box, specify the Client Deployment Location. Select the Next button.
11. Select the desired CAD Configurations. Select the Next button.
12. Select the locations for the selected CAD systems. Select the Next button.
13. Select the products (modules) that will appear in the Eagle Point Product menu. Select the Next button.
14. Select the location where Eagle Point program files are installed. Select the Next button.
15. Select the components to install (support, images, help files, ...). Select the Next button.
16. Select how the components are installed. Select the Next button.
17. Select the program folder for Eagle Point. Select the Next button.
18. Review the settings for the client deployment. Select the Next button.
19. The installation routine should begin building the Client Deployment setup. After it is complete select the Finish button.
20. The Setup routine installed to the client deployment location MUST be run on every workstation that is to receive the update.
Updating the Client
Workstations (Network License Manager)
After installing the new client deployment setup, run the Setup.exe
found in the client deployment folder. If you chose the client
installations to be silent (no Eagle Point or CAD prompts), the
setup routine will automatically update/repair the current
workstation installation.

In an effort to help diagnose
common questions and issues relating to the Network License
Manager version of Eagle Point Software, a diagnostic/troubleshooting
utility has been provided in the \Goodies folder of this CD-ROM.
Within this folder is a self-extracting zip file called NetSolver.exe that will place a series of HTML files in
the directory location you specify. To begin the diagnostic
utility, launch the StartHere.html file with a web browser.
Once the StartHere.html page is loaded, click on the appropriate
hyperlink which best describes the question or issue you have.
Please be aware that modifications to your computer or computer
network should be made only by qualified personnel
after all pertinent safety precautions have been implemented.
